PFGC Youth Program For the past few years, PFGC
has been preparing its youth program. We have held a few community
youth shooting events. Building upon this success, below are some
segments of our program which we will be introducing in the upcoming year.
- PFGC members - If your son or daughter is interested in becoming
involved and helping with the program, please contact our
Youth Chairman.
- Non-PFGC members - If your son or daughter is interested in becoming
part of this program, please contact our
Youth Chairman.
- Youth Organizations - If your youth organization would like to hold a
fishing/shooting event, outdoor skill event or learn more about sportsman
activities and the outdoors, please contact our
Youth Chairman.
PFGC Youth Protection
The PFGC Youth Program supports BSA, 4H, member's youths and other
organizations on a regular basis. Below is our Youth Protection
preparedness. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact
our
Youth Chairman.
The PFGC Youth Program requires its Youth Committee members to file a NH
State Police background check
For adult leaders and volunteers supporting PFGC youth events, we ask that
you read BSA's (Boy Scouts of Americas)
"How To Protect Your
Children From Child Abuse: A Parents Guide."
Upon completion of reading and understanding the material, we ask that our
adult leaders and volunteers send an email to our
Youth Chairman stating that they
have read the guide, understand the materials and will report to the youth
chairman any abusive behaviors or situations were to occur.
We "Thank" all our adult leaders and volunteers for their understanding and
efforts to support our program in learning about and practicing youth
protection.
PFGC Youth Shoots:
PFGC Youth Shoots are a one day event to introduce knowledge and experience
for
various shooting activities. In years past we have had stations for
archery, air rifle, .22 rifle, shotgun and .22 pistol. Each event will
be limited to 50 participants. Visit our
Photo Album
to see past events.
Dates & Times - By the end of January, PFGC will have the dates for the GSB
(Granite State Bowhunter) shoots. We use these dates to set your
yearly calendar. PFGC will be designating three dates, one in a month
for May, June and July to hold its youth shooting events.
If your 4H or Scouting organization (Boy Scout Troops, Explorer Crews) are
interested in attending, please contact our
Youth Chairman.

4H:
UPDATE Instructor
Training - PFGC has coordinated with 4H to bring
the 4H Instructor Training to the Manchester area. The weekend of May
15th & 16th is when the training will be held. There are 6-8
categories of training such as .22 pistol, air rifle, shotgun, .22 rifle,
archer...etc. The game plan for PFGC is to have 2+ people signed up
for each category so that PFGC has a fully qualified team of 4H certified
instructors across all of the 4H shooting sports categories. If you
are interested in becoming a 4H Certified Shooting Instructor, please
contact
Jack Belanger or Youth Chairman.
PFGC Outdoor Club - John has completed
the paperwork and now coordinating with PFGC Board of Directors and 4H to
start up the club. We have two members, Bob Handy and Robert Barber
who will be leading the youth and starting up the meetings.
Monthly Shoots - These events are to be
started once the youth have been engaged and the Outdoor club is up and
running.
Scouting:
Several of our PFGC members are involved in scouting. We have merit
badge counselors for the below badges. If you have a youth in scouting
who is looking for assistance or the opportunity to earn their requirements,
regardless if you are a PFGC member, please contact our
Youth Chairman.
