  • From the Club President Jack Belanger

    Dear Fellow Members,

The Pointer Fish and Game Club will continue their monthly meetings at the Sweeney Post Hall on the first Monday of every month in 2008. The dates are as follows: January 7th, February 4th, March 3rd, April 7th, May 5th, June 2nd, September 8th (since Labor Day holiday is the first Monday in September), October 6th, November 3rd and December 1st. Please note that the club does not meet in July or August due to vacations.

In addition the club has its annual banquet in April on a Thursday. Please reserve Thursday, April 17th, 2008, for that occasion.

Please save these meeting dates and event notices as monthly notices will be discontinued, and sent out only on a quarterly basis, or as needed. Also, we will be posting events and dates on the website.

  • IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS

The May, June and September meetings will be held at the Pointer Fish and game field in Bedford, NH (NOT at Sweeney Post).

History

The Pointer Fish and Game Club was organized in 1919, making it one of the oldest sportsman's clubs in New Hampshire. At the present time the Pointer Fish and Game Club has a membership limited by quota of 350 men and women. Pointers presently own 33 acres of wooded land complete with buildings, rifle ranges, trap shooting facilities and a spring fed stream. The Club also owns a number of acres of land on the Goffstown - Dunbarton town line. Club members may use these facilities at anytime.

Pointers have always been in the forefront in conservation measures, pollution abatement, securing rights of ways, and improving relationships between landowner and sportsmen. The Pointers sponsor a number of children to the Barry Conservation Camp each year. The Club also sponsors Hunter Safety Programs for both firearm and archery.

The Pointer Fish and Game Club is composed of people linked together by a chain of friendship and consideration of others and a common bond of love of the wildlife and natural resources of this country, especially the State of New Hampshire.
